WHY GIVE

The Center for Human Genetics, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, has for more than 30 years provided impeccable genetic diagnostic services, together with history-making research discoveries, teaching of students and training of post-doctoral fellows. Tens of thousands of patients have been able to be reassured about their future children, their pregnancies, or themselves, by virtue of continuing and evolving genetic technologies and increasingly by sophisticated genetic counseling.

Recognized worldwide for our services, books and scientific publications, the Center has the privilege of serving physicians and institutions in 45 countries.

The ever-expanding costs of needed new gene technologies, including next generation sequencing, makes it vital to appeal for philanthropy. Individuals, families, business, corporations and foundations are welcome to provide tax-deductible donations. Such financial support enables the continuation of research and development that has led to our new DNA Chip for the simultaneous diagnostic analysis of 53 genes implicated in autism and autism-spectrum disorder. Support for similar approaches will be applied to various cancers, cardiovascular disorders, and connective tissue disorders, to name only a few systemic disorders.

Many individuals cannot afford critical genetic testing for themselves or their family. Non-coverage by insurance or lack of insurance coverage for genetic testing may be a significant impediment to those affected by a myriad of genetic disorders. Individuals can make specific disease category donations or setup a fund to support genetic testing for such families (e.g., Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Kabuki syndrome, etc.). You can support one of our goals of providing genetic testing to those in need.

All donations, irrespective of amount, are welcome and greatly appreciated.
